After a Devastating Accident, Anya the Mother Dog Fought to Stay With Her Puppies
When we got the call, the description was urgent: a mother dog injured in an accident, her eye dislodged, her skin infected, and her body weak.

The dog, later named Anya, lived in an industrial area in Anand with her puppies.
Our team at RRSA India first rescued the pups and placed them in a safe location—then returned for their mother.
Anya was terrified and disoriented. Her injuries were serious, but her only concern was her missing babies.

She refused food, didn’t try to escape, and seemed to communicate with us in her own way—pleading to be reunited with her pups.
We gently transported her to the RRSA Animal Shelter. Once back with her babies, Anya’s body softened.
The fear remained, but the presence of her puppies brought comfort.

She was in rough condition. The infection in her eye was severe, and her skin showed signs of long-term suffering.
We stabilized her with IV fluids and prepared her for emergency surgery. The eye couldn’t be saved, but the operation went smoothly. Anya began to recover—slowly but surely.
Each day, she grew a little stronger. Her appetite returned, her skin began to heal, and she stayed close to her puppies, finding strength in their presence.

Though scarred by trauma, her resilience was undeniable.
Anya’s journey from the chaos of the industrial zone to the safety of the shelter marked a turning point.
Thanks to timely rescue and compassionate care, she now has a chance at a full recovery—and a future full of love and peace.
