Man Puts His Fear Aside To Save ‘Angry’ Animal With Head Stuck In Jar

“I’m just happy I could help!”

Last week, after getting into her car to head to work, Carly Roxx began to hear a strange sound coming from below.

It was enough to give her pause.

“Before I started the car, I heard something banging underneath the car,” Roxx told The Dodo. “I got out and there he was, kinda stuck under the car. I was so scared.”

What Roxx saw was a helpless groundhog, whose head was stuck inside a plastic jar. He was disoriented and appeared to be struggling to breathe. Fearing the worst, Roxx ran to get her partner, Vince, for help.

Using an oscillating saw with a special blade (similar to those used by doctors to remove casts), Vince carefully loosened the lid of the jar to allow the groundhog to escape. It was a nerve-racking experience all around.

“I was definitely a little nervous, just because I’m sure he was angry and a bit nervous himself,” Vince told The Dodo. “But I couldn’t watch him suffer.”

@carly.roxxEnjoy this video of Vince saving a groundhogs life. I found this little guy trapped under my car banging his head. So Vince got his oscillator and cut it off so this groundhog could go about his business. This tool will not cut skin. They use similar tools to cut off plaster casts at the dr. We did attempt to call the game warden and then the police but they wouldn’t come out. Bonus at the end when Vince jumps over the fence in fear for his life!! 😂#groundhog#animals#animalrescue#cityboy#cleveland#slowmo#fyp♬ original sound – Carly Roxx

Having put his fear aside to help, Vince was quick to skedaddle once the job was done. And the groundhog, now safe, made a hasty exit, too.

The jar, an old peanut butter container, was disposed of to avoid another mishap.

“I felt accomplished for saving the poor guy,” Vince said. “It was kind of a silly situation, but it had a very rewarding outcome. I’m just happy I could help!”

“[T]hey really didn’t want any of the cats …”

By Ashley Ortiz

Last week, a New York City resident was walking down the street when a piece of cardboard strapped to the entrance of a local warehouse caught their attention. Their heart dropped as they read the words “free cats” on the cardboard sign, and they immediately approached the business for more information.
